Boy have we been busy! We just finished a new website for Johnson Concrete Curing systems at JohnsonCCS.com, and we also finished an upgrade to the Quad Cities Builders and Remodelers association at QCBR.org. Enjoy the warm weather in the Quad Cities this weekend.
Barbara Wallace law in Davenport, Iowa hired us to give their website a fresh look, and make it Responsive. We are also handling their Directory Submissions, so their contact information and Business Listings are consistent throughout the Web. This will help improve their SEO and web visibility, not to mention send people to the right location. We’ve still got some content to add, but the website is up and running at BWallaceLaw.com.
Our friend Jeff Mahieu needed a new website. He left Dex, and transferred his domain name to GoDaddy. We then created a new, mobile-friendly website and are hosting it on our servers. Jeff is saving over 75% of what he was paying Dex, and now has a new, responsive website. We also created a new logo for him. If you need painting services in the Quad Cities, he’s the man to call!
Thank you again to JWild Marketing for selecting us to the the Quad Cities Web Development company for the new Riemr website! Rock Island Electric Motor Repair RIEMR is a historic company in Rock Island, and we gave their website an “electric” look. And of course, the website is Responsive, so it looks great on any device. www.riemr.com
We recently worked as the sub-contractor for developing a new website for Bass Street Chophouse in Moline, IL. This upscale restaurant was looking for a new, improved website that was mobile-friendly and responsive to all devices. We made sure to update their look and feel, to match the new logo and branding that they wanted. We also added OpenTable for easy reservations and a menu that is easy to view on any mobile device. Check out the new website at BassStreetChophouse.com. Thank you for another great web project in the Quad Cities.
We just wrapped up a project for McCarthy Callas and Feeney, a law firm in Rock Island, Illinois. The site was originally developed several years ago by a fellow Quad Cities web development firm. The clients liked the way their website looked, they just wanted it to be Responsive. So, we kept their existing look-and-feel, and redeveloped the site from scratch so it would be mobile-friendly and responsive to all mobile-devices, tablets and internet browsers.
So, we can take credit for what’s “under the hood”, but the other firm developed the art and imagery.
If you have a website that you simply love, but want it to be converted to be Responsive, then we can do that! Give us a call at 309-428-3635.
Thank you to McCarthy Callas and Feeney!
Mobile-Friendly is the general term that we use to describe a website as being functional on all devices. However, there is actually a difference between Mobile-Friendly and Responsive.
A mobile-friendly website works the same exact way across all devices. Which means that nothing on the page changes when opened on a mobile-device. Literally, the website is the same across the board, and there are no changes to help with usability. The customer has to zoom in and out to read the website.
- Fixed content that doesn’t change in size or shape
- Navigation is difficult due to small menu buttons
- Images are smaller
- Zoom in and out of content and images.
A responsive website is one that changes based on the device that they’re viewing it on. Here, text and images change from a three-column layout, to a single column display. The website will adjust in size and function based on the device.
- Navigation is condensed
- Optimized images to change in size
- Correct padding and spacing
- Hamburger menus
- Google and Bing Prefer Responsive.
Test your website
Test your website for Responsiveness using the Bing Mobile-Friendly test tool. It is better than the Google test, because Google only looks for “mobile-friendly” whereas Bing will check if it is Responsive.
We just wrapped up a website for Bi-State Masonry in Rock Island, IL. They are a Quad Cities based masonry company that performs work all across the nation. The new website was developed to be not just mobile-friendly, but Responsive to any device. It has a floating Contact form, and a gallery of many of their past projects.
